Official data show that China's investment in the railway sector in the first three months of the year increased by 6,6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. announced that 113,55 billion yuan (approximately $16,40 billion) has been invested in the country's railway sector in total. In fact, investments in this sector have grown considerably in recent years compared to before. The revenues of the related company increased by 18,2 percent compared to the first quarter of the previous year and reached 271,9 billion yuan.

The number of passengers traveling on Chinese railways was 753 million in the first three months of the year; This number corresponds to an annual increase of 66 percent. China's rail freight volume is a key indicator of economic activity. This volume also increased by 2,3 percent in the same period and reached a total of 970 million tons.
