Eker I Run, which brings together healthy life, sports, entertainment and goodness, celebrated 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day with the Virtual Youth Run event. 228 people who participated in the virtual run, in which the distance the Bandırma Ferry reached Samsun was completed with steps, made the memory of 19 May 1919 live again.

Eker I Run organized a meaningful event in order to convey the values ​​represented by 19 May 1919, one of the turning points of the establishment of the Turkish Republic, to the younger generations. Eker I Run, which organized a Virtual Youth Run to celebrate the 19th of May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, brought together running lovers from different regions of Turkey.

750 km distance reached 2 times

The event, which was held with the motto "We're running #OnaRunning at the Virtual Youth Run on May 19th", took place with steps of approximately 750 km on the Bandırma Ferry's voyage to Samsun. 228 people who participated in the event with the energy of the youth, covered the 750 km distance twice, and covered a longer distance than the targeted distance. The total distance run in the May 2th Virtual Youth Run was 19 km.

Participants from 3 countries and 27 provinces participated in the race.

The 5 cities with the highest participation; They were listed as Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Bursa, Antalya. Step by Step Ankara and Bursa teams came together as part of the event and ran together in memory of 19 May and Atatürk.

Different distance options set

Participants were able to participate in the virtual run, which was held between 16-21 May, whenever they wanted from anywhere. The participants, who measured their running or walking at a certain distance with the help of a GPS-enabled sports watch or mobile phone application, uploaded these data to the Eker I Run website. 3 different options were determined for running or walking distance. Participants; In addition to the 1.9K and 19K options, they were able to record their runs and walks throughout the week with the "Unlimited Track" option.

The Virtual Youth Run, which turned into a relay race with the contribution of each runner, added a different color to the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day.
