Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyervisited the 10th People's Grocery/People's Butcher branch across Izmir, which was opened in Torbalı Ayrancılar. President Soyer said that thanks to the People's Butcher, a contribution of 5 million liras was made to the pockets of the people of Izmir in 15 months, and said, “There will be People's Grocery Stores/People's Butchers all over Izmir. We will directly bring what the people produce to the people," he said.
Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyervisited the 10th branch of People's Grocery/People's Butcher, which was established to deliver healthy, cheap and reliable food to the public, in Torbalı Ayrancılar. Minister Tunç Soyere Republican People's Party İzmir Provincial President Şenol Aslanoğlu and Torbalı Mayor Mithat Tekin, İzTarım A.Ş. General Manager Murat Onkardeşler accompanied him.
Speaking at the visit, the President Tunç Soyer“For 4 years, we have been trying to act as a municipality for the people as much as we can. We sold 10 million TL worth of meat in 5 months with the 55 People's Butchers we opened. About 15 million liras remained in the pockets of the citizens. We are doing the biggest job in the public sector in the meat and milk movement in the history of İzmir.”
“It will be everywhere in Izmir”
Stating that the People's Grocery Stores will be spread all over İzmir, and that affordable, healthy and local products will be delivered to the citizens, Mayor Soyer said, “We protect the meat and milk of the workers and small producers and we bring them together with the people of İzmir as healthy products. We will open the 11th one in Çamdibi. From now on, there will be People's Grocery Stores and People's Butchers all over İzmir; We will not leave the vehicle. We will directly bring what the people produce to the people," he said.
Bagel met with cheap and healthy meat
İzmir Metropolitan Municipality's subsidiary İzTarım A.Ş. Healthy and safe meat products purchased from small producers, İzmir-branded processed products and carcass meat were offered for sale at affordable prices in the renovated People's Butcher sections of the People's Grocery in Torbalı Ayrancılar, which was recently put into service by the Company. Meat products sold at approximately 40 percent below the market price due to inflation gave hope to citizens' kitchens. In addition to meat products, there are dairy products from İzmir, herbal products and natural and healthy products produced by cooperatives from all over Turkey in the branches of People's Grocery-People's Butcher.
