Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to move the 47th Ammunition Depot in Sille to its new location in Çumra district.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay said that since the 47th Ammunition Warehouse Arsenal of the Turkish Armed Forces is located in an area very close to the city center, the work they started to move the arsenal to a region far from the settlements continues rapidly.

Noting that they are making an intense effort to complete the new arsenal, which is under construction on a land of more than 8 million square meters in Çumra, Mayor Altay said, “I hope it will be the highest budgeted investment in the history of Konya municipality with a budget of approximately 1 billion liras. We aim to complete the project, which will include 12 NATO Type Igloo Armory, headquarters buildings, service buildings and many social and military facilities in total, in the summer months. When our construction is completed, we will carry the Sille Road arsenal to this region, and we will sign a historical transformation in that region. I wish the best for our city," he said.
