Adil Karaismailoğlu, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, AK Party Trabzon Deputy Candidate, stated in his written statement that the Eurasia Tunnel, which was opened in December 2016, gives a breath of fresh air to Istanbul traffic and provides a fast, safe and comfortable transportation opportunity.
Underlining that the increase in vehicle density in the tunnel continues, Karaismailoğlu said, “We broke another record in the Eurasia Tunnel. On April 22, we reached the highest number of crossings per day by using the tunnel with 85 vehicles. Our country wins with the right investments at the right time," he said.
Karaismailoğlu pointed out that the Eurasia Tunnel, which reduced the distance between the two continents to 5 kilometers, shortened the transportation distances on the south axis of Istanbul by approximately 10 kilometers, and also stated that it reduced the journey between the Asian and European sides to 5 minutes.
