The nuclear electricity installed power being built in China continues to be the first in the world. The China Nuclear Energy Association published the blue book on China's nuclear energy development today. In the book, it was pointed out that with the construction of 24 nuclear electricity units so far, China continues to be the first in the world in this regard.

According to the data described in the book, since 2022, 10 nuclear power units have been approved in China, 3 commercial nuclear power units have been put into service, and the construction of 6 nuclear power units has been started.

The data showed that the total installed capacity of the 24 nuclear power units currently being built in China has reached 26 million 810 thousand kilowatts.

In the book, it was also reported that the level of localization of China's critical equipment in the field of nuclear power is constantly increasing.

Zhang Tingke, Secretary of the China Nuclear Energy Association, said that the localization rate of important nuclear electrical equipment in China has exceeded 90 percent.

By 2035, China's nuclear power generation is expected to increase its share of total electricity generation to 10 percent, which will greatly support the country's transition to a low-carbon development model.
