After selection by the International Council of Nurses and the Florence Nightingale International Foundation, Zhang Jinyuan, former director of Nanchang First Hospital Nursing Division and 39th Nightingale Medal winner, won the 2023 International Achievement Award.
According to the information provided by the Red Cross Society of Jiangxi province, Zhang Jinyuan has been engaged in clinical nursing work for more than 40 years. After Zhang retired, she established a community volunteer service system in 1999 and expanded her professional nursing practice into the community.
Zhang Jinyuan, 94, still works on the frontline of volunteer services, with total volunteer hours exceeding 26 hours.
Zhang also launched the community-hospital-family-volunteer home care chain service model and intelligent elder care service platform.
