Vocational and technical education institutions affiliated to the Ministry of National Education produce container classrooms in order to support students in Kahramanmaraş-centered provinces affected by earthquakes to access education.

The Ministry of National Education continues its activities in the field within the scope of the aid mobilization launched across the country in order to heal the earthquake wounds immediately after the earthquake disaster in Kahramanmaraş.

In this context, vocational high schools, which produce many products from blankets to sleeping bags, from stoves to hygiene materials for earthquake victims, are producing container classrooms this time.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made the following assessment on the subject: “Teachers and students of our vocational high schools produce container classrooms to enable our students studying in schools affected by the earthquake to meet with education. 12 vocational and technical Anatolian high schools in eight provinces, namely Konya, Gaziantep, Bursa, Antalya, Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir and Mersin, started the production of 1.200 container classrooms with solar power plants to meet their own electricity needs. In the first place, 348 of these container classes were budgeted and the production process of the container classes started. The container production capacity is between 20 and 25 per day, of which 138 containers were sent to the ten affected by the class earthquake. The production process of the 210 container class continues.”

Noting that Gaziantep Şehitkamil Şehit Serdal Şakır Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School started production with the target of 300 container classrooms, Minister Özer said, “Bursa Kestel Cement Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School 200, Konya Kılıçarslan BIST Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School and Konya Mehmet Tuza Pakpen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School 150 'Each container classroom, Antalya Kepez Şehit Özcan Şenol Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School started the production of 150 container classrooms. Ankara Sincan Fatih MTAL, Şişli Zincirlikuyu ISOV MTAL, Üsküdar Haydarpaşa MTAL and İzmir Ödemiş MTAL 50 each; Mersin Toroslar Atatürk MTAL and Mersin Akdeniz Mersin MTAL will produce 25 container classes each.” said.

Pointing out that vocational high schools also produce portable toilets to be used with these containers, Özer noted that 130 mobile toilets produced and assembled in vocational and technical secondary education institutions were loaded on trucks and sent to the provinces in the earthquake zone.

Minister of National Education Özer reminded that vocational high schools have carried out important works by producing products needed by the society from masks to disinfectants, from respirators to disposable aprons during the Kovid-19 epidemic, and said, “Here are those 'dark day friendly' vocational high schools for earthquake victims in the earthquake disaster in Kahramanmaraş. produces a large number of products needed from blankets to sleeping bags, from stoves to hygiene materials.
