Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum stated that the first excavation for disaster houses was struck in Malatya, which was affected by the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş, which was defined as the "disaster of the century", with his posts on his official social media account.
In his post, Minister Kurum stated that, in addition to the disaster houses, the houses built within the scope of the "My First Home, My First Workplace" project, which is the biggest social housing move in the history of the Republic, also increased rapidly and said, "We struck the first digging in Malatya Battalgazi. In the video shared by the Minister Institution, it was stated that consultations were held for earthquake housing and the opinions of opinion leaders and non-governmental organizations were taken. It was emphasized that after the micro-zoning and ground survey works in the new settlements, the works on the grounds suitable for housing construction started, and it was stated that the first digging was struck in Malatya.
While it was stated in the post that the works for earthquake housing started, on the other hand, it was stated that the works on the project "My First Home, My First Workplace", the biggest social housing move in the history of the Republic, continue at full speed.
Stating that new settlements were determined in Malatya after the Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, TOKİ Technical Affairs Department Head Arif Güney Gültekin said, “The areas in Malatya have been determined. Soil studies have been done, projects have been done and we have made the first excavation. Earthquake houses will be built as horizontal architectural ground plus 3 or as ground plus 4. We will quickly deliver within a year.” said.
“Working with 11 different master plans in 11 provinces”
In the statement made by the Ministry, it was stated that while working with 11 different master plans in 11 provinces, private residences will be built by the Mass Housing Administration (TOKİ) in accordance with the texture of each city. Disaster houses to be built in the earthquake zone will be designed in accordance with the needs of the city. The buildings will be built horizontally and in accordance with local architecture, not exceeding the ground plus 3-4 floors. In the new houses to be built, the shops will not be located under the building.
As of today, the construction of 21 thousand 244 houses is starting. Within 2 months, the foundations of 11 thousand houses in 244 provinces will be laid. Construction processes will be carried out simultaneously in centers, reserve areas and villages.
