Turkish construction company Gülermak won the tenders for the construction of two new metro lines in Romania, Cluj-Napoca and the capital Bucharest, together with the consortium it is in.

According to the news in Romania Insider, in the statement made by the city administration of Cluj-Napoca, in the consortium that won the completion of the line named Metro Line 1, Gülermak Ağır Sanayi İnşaat ve Taahhüt AŞ (Turkey), as well as Gülermak Spólka Z Ograniczona Odpowiedzialnoscia (Poland), Alstom Transport SA ( France) and Arcada Company SA (Romania).

The line, which will be 21 km long and will include 19 underground stations, will be the first metro line of the city. According to the news, 9,05 billion lei (36,74 billion TL and 1,8 billion Euros) excluding VAT was offered for the project.

In Bucharest, Gülermak (Turkey) and Somet (Romania) won the tender for the airport-city center metro line, to which they bid 1,3 billion lei (260 million Euros).

Line 6, which will run from Henri Coanda Airport to Baneasa, will have 7,6 km and six underground stations. Thus, the length of the existing line will increase to 14,2 km and there will be a total of 12 stations.

In principle, other companies participating in the tender have 10 days to object to the tender result.
