Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, announced that the works on the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line, which is among Turkey's mega projects, are coming to an end, and that they will soon put the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line into the service of citizens, with the project about 1,4 living in Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces. He also stated that XNUMX million citizens will have the opportunity to travel by high-speed train.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu continues to follow the works closely in Adıyaman, where he went after the earthquake in Kahramanmaraş. Karaismailoğlu, who examined the works in the region on the spot, noted that while Turkey's earthquake wounds were healed, the work continued in the ongoing projects. Pointing out that one of these projects is the Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​​​Train line, Karaismailoğlu said, "With the addition of our Ankara-Sivas High Speed ​​​​Train line to the high-speed train operation that started between Ankara-Eskişehir, we will complete an important part of our Ankara-based high-speed rail network. Our 405 kilometers long Ankara-Sivas high-speed rail line will also be an important part of the East-West high-speed rail corridor stretching from Edirne to Kars.”

Karaismailoğlu, who stated that the distance between Ankara and Sivas will decrease from 250 kilometers to 603 kilometers with the high-speed train line built in accordance with the speed of 405 km / h, pointed out that the travel time from 12 hours will be reduced to 2 hours and the distance between Ankara and Yozgat to 1 hour.

Underlining that with this project, approximately 1,4 million citizens living in Kırıkkale, Yozgat and Sivas provinces will have the opportunity to travel by high-speed train, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“With the completion of the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line, high-speed train access will be provided in the provinces located on the project route, as well as in the provinces adjacent to Sivas, with a highway + high-speed train connection. Within the scope of the project with a total length of 405 kilometers, we built a total of 8 stations in Elmadağ, Kırıkkale, Yerköy, Yozgat, Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, Yıldızeli and Sivas. In the project, in which a total of 155 million m3 of excavation and filling was carried out, we made important works of art, where the firsts were experienced. Within the scope of the project, we built 66 tunnels with a total length of 49 kilometers and 27,2 viaducts with a total length of 49 kilometers. The longest tunnel of the project is located in the Akdağmadeni region with 5 thousand 125 meters. We built the longest railway viaduct in Çerikli/Kırıkkale with 2 meters. We built the railway viaduct with the longest span in Turkey with 220 meters and the railway viaduct with the highest leg in Turkey with a height of 90 meters in Elmadağ. In addition, this viaduct is the longest span of railway viaduct in the world, with the MSS method (formwork carriage) passing a span of 88.6 meters.”

DOMESTIC RAIL IS USED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON THE SPEED TRAIN LINE

Karaismailoğlu stated that domestic rail was used for the first time on the high-speed train line and noted that the first ballast-free road (concrete road) application was carried out in the tunnels with 138 kilometers of concrete road. In project scope; Expressing that a local and national ice prevention and defrosting facility was built in Sivas, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “We are nearing the end of our work on the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line. In the near future, we will put the Ankara-Sivas high-speed train line at the service of our citizens. We will continue to support our country and our economy with our works during this difficult time. With every project we do, we will take our country one step further. We will continue to advance hand in hand with our nation, shoulder to shoulder," he said.
