Vice President Fuat Oktay made statements at AFAD Headquarters. In the earthquakes that occurred in Kahramanmaraş, 6 thousand 807 people, 49 thousand 589 of whom were foreign nationals, lost their lives in the earthquake.
To date, AFAD has sent 22 billion 328 million 330 thousand liras to our provinces affected by the earthquake, and a total of 31 billion liras has been sent by our public institutions and organizations. 82 billion 454 million 611 thousand TL of the amount committed from the Turkey One Heart campaign was deposited into AFAD accounts by our donors. The appropriations we send to the provinces and the total aid collected are evaluated and used by taking into account the plans of our public institutions for the recovery of our disaster area and the needs of our citizens.
Currently, our priority is sheltering, feeding and rebuilding cities. In order to meet the temporary shelter needs of our citizens in the disaster of the century, the tent and container installations that we started in the region from the first moment continue uninterruptedly. So far, 354 tent city areas have been created. Together with individual demands, 480 thousand tent installations were completed.
Accommodation is provided to 1 million 921 thousand citizens in the tents set up. In addition, 245 container city areas and a total of 108 thousand 155 container installations are planned in our provinces affected by the earthquake. Up to now, 25 thousand container installations have been completed.
In the containers established, a total of 96 thousand 444 citizens are provided with accommodation services. As we have stated before, the tent city and each container and tent in the container city have been designated and registered as a residence.
There will be no loss of rights when our earthquake survivors take their residence elsewhere to vote. I would like to express this in particular, so there is no need for any hesitation, they can easily take their residence where they are. So far, we have 345 thousand 97 citizens who have changed their residence.
As a state and a nation, we carry out what is necessary due to both flood damage assessment and earthquake disaster. Our support to our citizens continues unabated. A total of 10 billion 13 million 769 thousand TL per household support payment amounting to 850 thousand TL was deposited into the accounts of our earthquake victims families. In addition, a total of 15 billion 3 million 926 thousand liras of relocation assistance was provided to our families, amounting to 355 thousand liras. Payment transactions are still in progress.
