Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which has distributed more than 2017 thousand mulberry saplings, which it has produced in its own facilities, to farmers since 300 in order to improve silkworm breeding in Turkey, donated mulberry saplings to İzmir Karaburun Municipality.
Within the scope of rural development projects, Metropolitan Municipality, which was brought to life by the instruction of Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen and brought together more than 2017 thousand mulberry saplings with producers since 300, continues to produce mulberry saplings from steel without slowing down.
With the "Silk Insect Breeding Development Project", the farmers, who are going through difficult economic times, provide additional income, while they stay in production by taking advantage of the supports with the revival of cooperatives. While the work continues uninterruptedly at the steel mulberry production facility in order to further popularize silkworm breeding, the teams of the Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department continue to work on the production of 80 thousand steel mulberry saplings this year.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which delivers mulberry saplings to all over Turkey such as Antalya, Muğla, Ordu and İzmit, finally donated 724 mulberry saplings to İzmir Karaburun Municipality.
Karaburun Municipality Agricultural Services Coordinator Bahar Altun, who received the saplings, stated that they will start such a project for the first time and said, “We thank the Metropolitan Municipality, who set an example and guide us, and our President Yılmaz Büyükerşen. Eskişehir is a city that we take as an example in agricultural projects. Working in coordination makes us happy. Thanks again to those who contributed.” said.
