Bursa Metropolitan Municipality organizes an idea competition with a total award of 105 thousand TL in order to generate new ideas and develop projects on the fight against climate change and drought. The deadline for the competition, in which anyone between the ages of 18-39 who wants to develop ideas and produce projects on the fight against climate change and drought, can participate in teams of at least 5 and maximum 7 people, is Friday, April 14, 2023.
While the drought due to climate change has become the most important agenda not only of Turkey but also of the world, the Metropolitan Municipality, which has been working hard in every field from reducing the loss and leakage in drinking water to reducing the carbon footprint, also includes new ideas in this struggle. Ideathon Idea Contest is organized with the theme of 'My Mind, My Idea Bursa' in order to generate new ideas and develop projects on issues such as water scarcity, flood, overflow, reuse of wastewater, rainwater harvesting, increasing gray water use, control of water loss leaks in the network, stream improvement. . The competition, which is organized under the coordination of the Environmental Protection and Control Department, will be held online at the address yarismalar.bursa.bel.tr as of Wednesday, March 22. Everyone between the ages of 14-18 can participate in the competition, whose application deadline is Friday, April 39, in teams of at least 5 and maximum 7 people. After the pre-selection to be made among the applications, a maximum of 15 selected teams will be invited to the competition.
The workshop will be held
The winning teams will be announced on the website on April 19, 2023, and the teams whose applications have been accepted will also be contacted via e-mail. Documents and resources will be shared to help them prepare. A 27-day workshop will be held at Atatürk Congress and Culture Center on April 2023, 1. The teams selected in the workshop will be trained by the Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and the mentors of the stakeholder institutions, by making informative presentations about the studies carried out by the institutions on climate change and drought and the problems encountered. After the trainings, the teams will be asked to identify problems by making a problem analysis on climate change and drought. The teams will develop projects to solve the problems identified in the workshop. At the end of the workshop, the mentors that the teams will work with will be determined according to the selected project topics. The selected teams will be able to develop ideas through mentor meetings that will be held face-to-face or online, twice on 08/09 May 2023 and 29/30 May 2023. The project ideas to be presented by the teams that will compete at the Ideathon will be evaluated by the jury members, who will be formed by experts on climate change and drought, to be determined by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality, Department of Environmental Protection and Control. The teams will present their projects in front of the jury on 2-07 June and the winners will be announced on 08 June 08.
105 thousand TL prize money
The winner of the competition, which is organized to reveal new and applicable ideas in the fight against climate change, will win 50 thousand TL, the second 35 thousand and the third 20 thousand TL. In addition, all team members of the 15 selected teams (except for the first three award-winning teams) will be given a round-trip ticket to Uludağ by cable car.
