The 700 million TL giant project of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality ASKİ General Directorate, which will provide healthy, clean and quality drinking water to approximately 350 thousand people, was completed and even the first water was given. General Manager Erdoğan Öztürk said, “We are proud of having completed the Mamak-Gölbaşı Potable Water Line.”

Working hard day and night to solve the drinking water and infrastructure problems that the old administration postponed for years in the center and districts of Ankara, ASKİ General Directorate completed the approximately 25-kilometer "Mamak-Gölbaşı Drinking Water Line" and provided the first water flow to the line.

The project provided 650-700 thousand people with healthy drinking water, especially in Gölbaşı district center, which has problems due to frequent water cuts, and rural neighborhoods.

“WE OVERCOME ALL CHALLENGES”

ASKİ General Manager Erdoğan Öztürk, together with his technical team, inspected the PG1 Pump Station and Drinking Water Tank in the Imrahor region. Öztürk, who gave information about the project here, said:

“We have completed our Mamak-Gölbaşı main transmission line, which will take the water from our İvedik Drinking Water Treatment Plant and supply water to our Gölbaşı district. Our tests are also going extremely positive. There has been no problem so far. From time to time, due to the difficulties of working in the district center, we had difficulties especially in certain transitions in our Mamak region. We had some difficulties on the Eymir route, but we overcame all of them. We are proud of having completed a drinking water line that will appeal to approximately 700 thousand people.”

“WE COMPLETED THE PROJECT WITHOUT ANYONE'S NOSE BLEEDING”

Öztürk said, “It is more important to complete a job without any accident than to complete it. As ASKİ, we have shown sensitivity to work safety and worker health during the work. It was a project that was completed without anyone's nose bleeding. The productions were carried out successfully, good luck to all Ankara residents.

GÖLBAŞI'S WATER OUTPUT IS NOW BLESSED TO HISTORY

Construction works within the scope of the project started on February 28, 2021 at Mamak 398. Street and Dereboyu Street. While the parts of the line in the Mamak section were completed, ASKİ teams then continued their work on the route of İmrahor Valley and Eymir Lake. In the project, which was completed on January 22, 2023, the first water was given on March 9, 2023, with the completion of all tests. Thus, the 24 kilometers and 100 meters main transmission line between the districts of Mamak and Gölbaşı relieved the people of Gölbaşı, who suffered from water cuts, especially in the summer months.

2 UPGRADE STATIONS AND 1 WATER TANK ALSO BUILT

The project, which cost approximately 350 million, includes the construction of a 25-kilometer line, as well as a drinking water tank with a capacity of 5 thousand cubic meters and 2 pumping stations.

From time to time, malfunctions could occur in the line that fed the whole of İncek, Beytepe and Gölbaşı. With the commissioning of the Mamak-Gölbaşı Potable Water Line, there will no longer be any need for water cuts in Gölbaşı.
