China Establishes New Logistics Center to Organize Thousand Train Services to Europe

A new grouping center for China – Europe freight trains has opened in Shenyang, the capital of the Northeast Chinese province of Liaoning. The freight train, which departed for Russia with 55 containers on the opening day, was the first to register the opening of the China Railway Express Shenyang Center.

The grouping center covers a total area of 80 thousand square meters, 92 thousand square meters of which is under customs supervision. Therefore, the center is large enough to simultaneously stock 3 standard containers. Li Haiping, Deputy Director of Operations of the Shenyang Center, pointed out that the center has a processing capacity that will allow up to a thousand China-Europe trains to operate annually.

The operation of the center will respond to the need to increase the number of trains that carry freight between China and Europe via Shenyang. On the other hand, according to Li, the center will also form the basis for the creation of an international "road - rail - sea" logistics center with logistics services connecting Shenyang to the sea ports of Yingkou and Dalian in Liaoning.
