Parents who want to help their children gain the habit of reading at a young age turn to children's books suitable for their age group. Educational writers, who stated that children's books should reflect the world of children, warned that books that cannot reach the child's level of consciousness and that contain negative elements can cause trauma.

While children's books improve their cognitive abilities, they also contribute to their behavior and communication skills in daily life. Parents who want their children to acquire the habit of reading at a young age are looking for books suitable for their children's age group. Educator-Author Coşkun Bulut, who has made a name for himself with his children's books titled Children's City, Playful Fruits and Vegetables, Little Genius, Book Island and Children's Games Against Technology, warned parents that books that cannot reach the child's level of consciousness can cause trauma in the child.

Educator-Writer Coşkun Bulut stated that books that are not prepared consciously and that contain negative elements can cause children's sleep patterns to be disturbed, their fears, and their communication with the outside world to be cut off, and said, "Children's world is not like adults'. There are very different perception methods from adults, both at the stage of distinguishing good and bad, and at the stage of internalizing them. For this reason, children's books must necessarily reflect the child's world and be written at the level of his/her consciousness. Otherwise, these books may cause permanent traumas in children.”

“Books should not guide children's dreams”

Stating that children's books should appeal to children's imagination, Educator-Writer Coşkun Bulut said, "Children's books should appeal to children's imaginations, but should not shape their dreams. He should not give them clear directions. That is, books should only guide the child's wishes and dreams. This is how I wrote my books on Children's City, Playful Fruits and Vegetables, Little Genius, Book Island and Children's Games Against Technology. In my books, I aimed to appeal to the imagination of children, to enrich the content with games and to reinforce the subject with interesting visuals. I recommend that parents choose constructive books that support physical and psychosocial development when choosing books for their children.

“Interesting pictures contribute to children's motivation to read”

Educator-Writer Coşkun Bulut, who draws attention to the fact that the game world, which is the child's reality, should not be forgotten while choosing a book, said, “Game is everything for a child. It entertains children and supports their spiritual, physical and mental development. It enables them to socialize and gain positive behaviors. Therefore, such an important fact for children should be included in children's books. Pictures can be used as a tool at this point. Because child readers are mostly inclined to concrete learning. For them, drawings are much more effective than reading. Book illustrations not only support visual reading, but also enrich the child's imagination. Books with interesting pictures that are compatible with the subject make the book more attractive to children and contribute to their motivation to read. Therefore, it is critical to consider not only the text but also the visual richness when choosing a book.”
