About 525 Electric Vehicles Sold in China in February

About 525 electric vehicles were sold in China in February. This number corresponds to an increase of 55,9 percent compared to February of the previous year and 28,7 percent compared to January. The brand that took the biggest share of the new cake was BYD.

In China, the state implements policies to encourage the production and consumption of new energy vehicles. In this category, there are not only electric vehicles, but also electric and fuel-powered battery-operated hybrid vehicles.

January sales were lower than the traditionally high December, but rose from January 2022 to 408 units. In February, sales rose and were distributed to 376 thousand pure electric units and 149 thousand rechargeable hybrid units. Compared to the same month a year ago, sales of purely electric vehicles increased by 43,9 percent, and sales of rechargeable hybrids increased by 98 percent.

On the other hand, a total of 1 million 976 thousand vehicles, including electric, hybrid and fuel oil, were sold in China in February. In this context, there is an increase of 13,5 percent compared to a year ago. In addition, the market share of new energy vehicles has been about 26 percent.
