Deputy Minister Mehmet Ersoy, who participated in the 'Election Regional Security Meeting' held in Erzurum, said that 14 thousand security personnel will take charge on the election day in order to ensure that the free will of the citizen is reflected in the ballot box and can be carried out in an environment of trust in the Presidential and General Elections to be held on 600 May.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister Mehmet Ersoy in the meeting room in Erzurum Government House was attended by the General Director of Security, Mr. In addition to Mehmet Aktaş, the Governors of Erzurum, Ağrı, Ardahan, Bayburt, Erzincan, Iğdır, Kars Muş, Tunceli and Van, Police Chiefs and Gendarmerie Commanders attended.

Making a statement before the meeting, Deputy Minister Mehmet Ersoy said, “We have to fulfill our responsibilities with greater care than ever before, taking advantage of our previous election experiences. The election is the people's choice. The political meaning and results of the work are beyond our duty and interest as a ministry.

Our duty is to provide an environment where the free will of the citizen can be reflected in the ballot box in a healthy way without causing any setbacks, disruptions or security weaknesses.

Deputy Minister Mehmet Ersoy, who wished the elections to be beneficial, said, “We will not let go of our precautions in the elections. On the election day, approximately 326 thousand personnel, including 387 thousand 196 Police personnel, 197 thousand 7 Gendarmerie, 58 thousand Coast Guard, 658 thousand 17 security guards, 209 thousand 600 volunteer security guards, will take part in the election. The personnel will be accompanied by 71 helicopters, 8 planes and many military and police vehicles and drones as support.”
