11 Million Macarons Seized in Adana

11 million smuggled macarons were seized in an operation carried out in a warehouse in Adana by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, as a result of the intelligence studies carried out by the Adana Regional Chief of the Mersin Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate within the scope of the fight against smuggling, it was determined that smuggled tobacco products were kept in a warehouse in the industrial zone in the Seyhan district.

Thereupon, the warehouse in question was followed up by the teams, and possible suspicious activity in the surrounding area was monitored moment by moment. The teams raided the warehouse with the instructions of the prosecutor's office and saw that the upper and lower floors of the warehouse were full of macaron boxes.

In the operation carried out, a total of 11 million illegal empty macarons were seized. It was determined that the seized illegal macarons were worth 5 million 500 thousand Turkish Liras.

The investigation into the incident continues before the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
