Şanlıurfa Governor Salih Ayhan held an information meeting after two earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Governor Ayhan announced that 340 people from Şanlıurfa lost their lives in the region after two earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş. Governor Ayhan stated at the meeting that the number of people detained in connection with the destroyed buildings in Şanlıurfa is 8 and this number may increase. On the other hand, an investigation was launched against 14 people related to disinformation in Şanlıurfa.
Şanlıurfa Governor Salih Ayhan stated that 179 people lost their lives due to the earthquake in Şanlıurfa, and 8 people who were treated in hospitals were discharged. He announced that 919 people are currently being treated in hospitals.
Governor Ayhan gave information about the latest situation in the city at the press conference he held.
Stating that 20 buildings were destroyed at the time of the earthquake in Şanlıurfa, and that 8 people had been actively working in the field from the first day, Ayhan emphasized that the people who were under the rubble were removed with the intense struggle of 681 search teams in the first 72 hours.
Stating that 179 people lost their lives due to the earthquake in the city, Ayhan said:
“A total of 340 people from Şanlıurfa lost their lives in our city and other provinces in the disaster area. Autopsies and burials are done here. The number of our citizens who were injured in the wreckage in the first 72 hours is 144. The number of people who were affected by the earthquake and applied to the hospital and were discharged after treatment is 8 thousand 919. Currently, the number of patients hospitalized in the service is 313. The number of assembly areas in Şanlıurfa is 493. 91 thousand 3 tents were set up in 186 places throughout the city. A total of nearly 25 thousand citizens are housed in tents, 75 thousand blankets were distributed. 871 thousand 145 people are accommodated in 930 different places such as mosques, schools, condolence houses and halls. The number of people who are given psychological social support is 58 thousand.”
Emphasizing that the damage assessment works are continuing intensively, Ayhan stated that they plan for the citizens to return to their homes as soon as possible.
Governor Ayhan said, “91 thousand 3 tents have been set up in 186 places throughout the city. A total of nearly 25 thousand citizens are housed in tents, 75 thousand blankets were distributed. 871 thousand 145 people are accommodated in 930 different places such as mosques, schools, condolence houses and halls. The number of people who are given psychological social support is 58 thousand.” said.
Emphasizing that the damage assessment works are continuing intensively, Ayhan added that they plan for the citizens to return to their homes as soon as possible.
