Continuing to protect the symbolic values ​​of the capital, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality is renovating the Belpa Ice Skating Facility, which it took over under unhealthy conditions such as dirt and rust.

After the works that are aimed to be completed in 2023, the facility; It will serve with its new track, cafeteria, library and exhibition hall at international standards.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which has become a symbol as well as the historical and cultural values ​​of the capital, took action for the Belpa Ice Skating Facility.

In the Belpa Ice Skating Facility, which was transferred to ABB under unhealthy conditions such as dirt and rust, it was decided to carry out a comprehensive renovation and strengthening work after the examinations and studies.

IT WILL BE MADE ACCORDING TO INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

PORTAŞ, one of the affiliates of the Metropolitan Municipality, rolled up its sleeves for the facility, which is one of the symbols of the Capital.

Within the scope of the project, the existing ice rink and protective panels will be replaced and brought into line with international standards. The Metropolitan Municipality, which will renew the existing fitness halls, changing rooms and wet areas, will also build a connection road between Adnan Ötüken Park and the facility after the tender.

ICE SKING SPORTS WILL BE PERFORMED IN HEALTHIER CONDITIONS

The Metropolitan Municipality, which has signed many new projects to encourage the youth of the capital city, aims to make the ice skating sport in healthier conditions by giving the Belpa Ice Skating Facility a modern structure.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, which will completely renew the entire infrastructure line of the facility, aims to bring another facility to Ankara, where all capital residents from 7 to 70 can spend time with their families, with the exhibition hall, open library and cafeteria to be built within the facility area.

ABB Science Affairs Department Superstructure Chief Latif Yeşil said that they aim to encourage the youth of the capital city to do sports and to make ice skating sports in healthier conditions.

“We quickly started the renovation works at the facility, which was the largest skating rink in Turkey in the years it was built and which we took over from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. We plan to complete the works in 2023 and open them to the service of the citizens of the Capital. We are starting the electrical and mechanical installations of the entire building, the entire installation of the ice rink, and renovation works on the interior and exterior of the building. At the same time, static reinforcement works continue inside the building.”
