The new champions of Turkey were determined in the Hip-Hop and Breaking championships organized by the Turkish Dance Sports Federation on Saturdays and Sundays in Istanbul. Dozens of athletes coming from different provinces and competing in different age categories presented a visual feast.

The heart of the dance beat at the competitions held in Istanbul at the weekend. The new champions of Turkey in Hip-Hop and Breaking, the two most popular dance genres of the last period, were determined with the competitions held on January 21-22, 2023. The competitions organized by the Turkish Dance Sports Federation, headed by Tolga Han, who is known as the person who made dance popular in Turkey, took place at the SDR Dance Center in Beylükdüzü. In the tournaments attended by Selçuk Çebi, Head of Athlete Training Department of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, both national rankings and new national team athletes who will represent our country in international tournaments were determined.

Olympic team excitement at Breaking

The Turkish championship was held on Sunday in the Olympic branch, which will take place for the first time in Paris 2024. In the Turkey Breaking Championship, where the Olympic national team to be selected from among the winners will be determined, Oğuzhan Karademir came first, Furkan Yılmaz second, Murat Abdurrahmanaoğlu third in men over the age of 18. Jasmijn Millie came first, Nadire Selin second, Ebru Tuğ third in girls over the age of 18. The winners in other categories were determined as follows; Efe Cem in men's U-18 boys and Nadire Selin in girls came first. Emir Sönmez in U-16 boys and Ceylin Han in girls became the champions of Turkey by winning the first place. Nurperi Yedikardeşler in girls and Cenk Midilliç in boys won the first cup in the U-14 category.

The trophies and medals of the winners of the Turkish Hip-Hop Championship held on Saturday were presented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Athlete Training Department Head Selçuk Çebi. The champions in the hip-hop tournament were as follows: Ömer Öztürk in the over-21 category, Berfin Şentürk in the U-21, Sava Okan in the U-16, Emir Sönmez in the U-12, Lal Öncü in the U-9 won the first place in Turkey. they became champions.

Our efforts to train new athletes are starting to pay off. I am glad to see that the interest in Breaking has increased especially in the younger age groups. As the federation, we will continue to give all kinds of financial and moral support to all our athletes who have achieved international success, to the extent of our possibilities.'' He said.
