They Become the Pride of Izmir in the International Gastronomy Competition

Izmir Bornova Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School students made us proud in the 19th Istanbul International Gastronomy Competition. The students of the Food and Beverage Services Department, who participated in the 3-day competition from different categories individually and as a group, returned from the competition with 13 gold, 3 bronze and 1 silver medals.

Izmir Bornova Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School Food and Beverage Services Department students returned with many awards from the 37th Istanbul International Gastronomy Contest, attended by 400 students from 19 countries. Students participating in the competition individually and as a team achieved outstanding success by receiving 13 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze medals.

Efe Gülay, Recep Atay and Ragıp Şahin from the men's team competing in the "Modern Turkish Cuisine" category, among the students competing in different categories in the international competition, were awarded with a gold medal; Şeyma Başar, Belinay Palamut and Şaziye Ömer Gold Medal in the "Best High School of the Year" category; Cantürk Eroğlu, Doğukan Doğan and Fatmanur Soyer from the mixed team in the category of "Best High School of the Year" were awarded a Gold medal, and Şahra Kılıç and Aleyna Yakut in the category of "Young Golden Chief of the Year" were awarded a bronze medal.

In the individual category, Gamzenur Gür, in the Pasta category, Büşra Ergeç received the Gold medal in the Restaurant Desserts category, and Belinay Palamut in the Main Meal category. Elif Cankurt got a silver medal in the individual main course category, Ceylin Özler won a gold medal in the carving category and a bronze medal in the dessert category, making our country's name known in the international arena once again.

Medal-winning students, especially School Manager Adnan Uçar, who always supports their success, field chief teacher Aslıgül Kartpak, one of the graduate students, Kitchen Chef Hakan Akalın, Litany Restaurant masters İsmail and Murat Şef, who provide sponsor support with material supply and preliminary preparation, and TAŞFED in the Carving study. He thanked the Master of the Association İbrahim Polat, the English teacher Fatma Arslan who translated the menu cards, and the assistant principals İbrahim Kuz and Belgin Health teachers who did not leave the competitors alone during the competition, as well as Özgür Koç and Figen Altuntaş.
