The Economic Congress of the Second Century Begins in February

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, gave information to international press organizations about the Second Century Economics Congress to be held between 15-21 February 2023 and the preliminary preparations that have been going on for six months. Soyer answered journalists' questions about the congress at the meeting held in Istanbul and attended by representatives of approximately 20 foreign press organizations.

Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer; met with the representatives of foreign press organizations within the scope of the preparations for the Second Century Economics Congress, which was designed as a civil, transparent and fully participatory initiative, aiming to create the economic policies of the new century of the republic with a common mind. About 20 journalists representing many organizations attended the meeting.

Expert meetings begin

The Stakeholder Meetings of the Second Century Economics Congress, held between 10 August and 1 December 2022, and which constitute the first phase of the congress, have been completed. Within the scope of Stakeholder Meetings, many sessions were held with the participation of farmers, workers, industrialists, traders and craftsmen's organizations.

Each stakeholder group has compiled the problems in the sector and the related solution proposals into comprehensive conclusion texts as a result of long discussions. Declarations prepared as a result of Farmer, Worker and Industrialist-Merchant-Tradesman Meetings were shared with the public.
After the stakeholder meetings, the second phase of the Expert Meetings, in which the prepared declarations will be evaluated conceptually and academically, has started.

The first expert meeting 'We are satisfied with each other' was held on January 13 with a wide participation. The 'Back to Our Nature' meeting will be held on 20 January, the 'We Understand Our Past' meeting on 25 January, and the 'We See the Future' meeting on 4 February.

Economic Congress of the Second Century

After the Expert Meetings, the Second Century Economics Congress will convene between February 15-21, 2023, and policy proposals that will shape the new century will be shared with all of Turkey. Important speakers from Turkey and the world will attend the congress.
