Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu stated that they have reached the tender stage for their project to transport the Ankara-Istanbul high-speed train line to Sabiha Gökçen and Istanbul Airport, and continued as follows:

“We are connecting the 34-kilometer Kağıthane-Istanbul Airport on Sunday. At the same time, we are carrying out another more important project. Hopefully we'll be able to bid on it soon. The Ankara-Istanbul high-speed train line will leave Gebze and cross the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge over Sabiha Gökçen Airport to reach Istanbul Airport and continue from there to Europe. This high-speed train station will come between our existing metro station at Istanbul Airport and the airport. We will bring our Istanbul Airport together with our high-speed train network.”
