Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank inaugurated the Güngören Science Center, which was established in cooperation with the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), the Turkish Technology Team (T3) Foundation and the Güngören Municipality.

Noting that they make new investments every day in order to strengthen the science and technology infrastructure, Minister Varank said:

“We support the R&D and Design Centers established by the enterprises in order to develop the R&D culture in the private sector. The number of our businesses with R&D and Design Centers has approached 600.”

The number of technoparks reached 97

Stating that the number of Technoparks, which provides a suitable environment for entrepreneurs to commercialize all kinds of original ideas, has reached 97, Minister Varank said, “The number of Pioneer R&D Laboratories, where deep scientific research is carried out for the technologies of the future, is increasing day by day. In these laboratories, very important studies are carried out from 6G to autonomous driving, from additive manufacturing technologies to advanced materials.” said.

R&D expenditures

Minister Varank pointed out that the number of full-time equivalent R&D employees has increased from 20 thousand to 29 thousand in 222 years, and said, “R&D activities for the nationalization of critical technologies continue at full speed at TÜBİTAK's Research Institutes. The results of this effort are also reflected in the statistics. We see that the ratio of R&D expenditures to national income has increased from five per thousand to 20 percent in the last 1,13 years.” he said.

Minister Varank said, “We are signing new generation solutions to train as science and technology lovers” and said, “Deneyap Technology Workshops is one of them. Our children in the 81 Experimental Technology Workshops in our 100 provinces learn to develop projects in a wide range from artificial intelligence to the internet of things, from design to robotics.” used the phrases.

TEKNOFEST

Minister Varank said, “The competitions we organize at TEKNOFEST, the world's largest aviation, space and technology festival, prepare our youth for the technologies of the future. Young people participating in the competitions in teams develop unique projects in fields such as bio-technology, chip design, vertical landing rocket, mixed swarm robots.” said.

Technological Crew

Stating that the Technological Crew went on a tour of Turkey under the auspices of the Ministry and received great attention, Minister Varank said, "With the TRT children's successful TV series 'Rafadan Tayfa', which is followed fondly by animation enthusiasts of all ages, we have recently carried out good activities to increase the interest of young people in technology.” he said.

Galactic Crew

Minister Varank said, “Last week, as you know, there was the premiere of Rafadan Tayfa's third film, 'Galactic Crew', which we also patronize as a ministry. At the end of its first weekend, Galactic Crew watched 440 thousand spectators and took the leadership seat. This is a pleasing development in terms of showing how well we do a job. Polar Research Projects Competition

Stating that his activities that encourage young people to be scientists, researchers and to do science are not limited to these, Minister Varank said, “This year, we will send our three high school students to Antarctica through TÜBİTAK. These students, who came first in the Polar Research Projects Competition, will participate in the 7th National Antarctic Science Expedition and have the opportunity to test their projects at the poles.” he said.

Underlining that science center projects continue in 8 provinces, Minister Varank said:

One of them is the establishment of large-scale science centers in our cities with high population potential. While the building and infrastructure, administrative works and operating expenses are covered by the stakeholder institutions, TÜBİTAK provides support to parts such as exhibitions, training workshops and planetarium. Science center projects have been completed in Konya, Kocaeli, Kayseri, Bursa, Elazig and Antalya Kepez.”

2 thousand 500 square meters area

Emphasizing that Güngören Science Center hosts many services with its 2 square meter indoor area, Minister Varank said, “Deneyap Technology Workshop, Planetarium and Space Hall, professional sound recording studio and different graphic design facilities are just a few of these services. Our young people in the workshops here; will receive training in mathematics, astronomy, aviation, space, natural sciences, robotics, coding and design. Güngören Mayor Güngören Mayor Bünyamin Demir explained that they have prepared programs that will be used by all primary and secondary school students in the district within a year at Bilim Güngören Center, that these students will come and attend the workshops, that they can attend the Experimental program and study here for 2 years with an exam.

Minister Varank, who cut the opening ribbon of the Bilim Güngören center after the speeches, said, “This center will carry out works that will contribute greatly to our greatest value, our children and children.
