The zero-emission, environmentally friendly electric buses, which join the vehicle fleet of the Metropolitan Municipality with the goal of 'Environmentally and Nature-Friendly Antalya', facilitate the transportation of students within the Akdeniz University campus. Electric buses provide transportation for 2 students daily within the university. The free flights start at 500 in the morning and continue until 06.00 at night.

Saying that Antalya met electric buses for the first time, Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Advisor Lokman Atasoy said, “Our President Muhittin Böcekwanted the newly added electric buses to its public transportation fleet to be at the service of university students in particular. As of December, two electric buses started to provide free transportation services within Akdeniz University. Approximately 2 thousand 500 students benefit from this service daily. The biggest contribution of electric buses is that they are zero carbon and zero emissions. We are a municipality that sets an example for Turkey, which has declared its 2050 target as carbon neutral. In this context, these buses reduce the emission of our 200 trees, which are equivalent to 481 tons of carbon dioxide. Economically, it saves 3 times more fuel than diesel buses," he said.
