Dutch Student Learns Turkish Cuisine at Antikkapı

The National Internship Program, which allows hundreds of students from different countries of the world to come to Turkey every year, opened the doors of Turkish cuisine to Dutch students. Dutch student Tessa Waard learned about the important dishes of Turkish cuisine at Maide Cafe and Restaurant affiliated to Antikkapı A.Ş., one of the affiliates of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality.

INTERNSHIP REQUESTED

Tessa Waard, who studied at MBO Life Colleg in the Netherlands, chose Kocaeli for the Turkish cuisine she was interested in. Waard, who applied to Antikkapı, one of the affiliates of the Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of the National Internship Program, was not turned down.

LEARNING THE TURKISH CUISINE

Dutch Tessa Waard started to learn the unique flavors of Turkish cuisine in Antikkapı kitchens. The unique tastes of Turkish cuisine were taught to the Dutch student by the chefs of Antikkapı. Dutch student Waard learned how to make pita and kebab in the kitchen of Maide Cafe and Restaurant from the first day.

Dutch Tessa Waard thanked the Metropolitan for the internship opportunity and said, “I love Turkish cuisine. The cuisine and chefs here are very good. I want to learn Turkish cuisine and bring it to my own country. That's why I chose this place. I would like to thank Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality and Antikkapı for giving me this opportunity.”
