Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. The interest in the innovative works initiated by Mehmet Hilmi Güler in the field of agriculture managed to attract the attention of all segments. In order to support new ideas and contribute to the development of agriculture, the Bio-Innovation Center, which started its activities in Akpınar Neighborhood of Ulubey district by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, became the focus of attention of academic circles.

The interest in the first and only Bio-Innovation Center of the Black Sea Region is increasing day by day. The Bio-Innovation Center, which continues its activities in the Akpınar District of the Ulubey district, opened its doors to the faculty members and students of the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of Ordu University.

The Bio-innovation center, where many important studies were carried out, was founded by Ordu University Molecular Biology and Genetics Department Faculty Members. Öznur Ergen Akçin and Prof. Dr. Tuğra Özbucak hosted university students.

Faculty members and students visited the tissue culture laboratory, soilless agriculture unit, distillation unit, vertical farming unit and progenitor seed units in the Bio-innovation center and received information from the Branch Manager, Ethem Gözkonan, about the activities carried out.

While it was evaluated that the studies carried out were very important for the province and the region, views were exchanged on how the students could evaluate the possibilities of the Bio-innovation center in the following process.

CONTINUED STUDIES AT THE BIO-INNOVATION CENTER

The Bio-Innovation Center, whose main field of activity is the Doku Culture Laboratory, includes the Distillation Unit, Soilless Agriculture Unit, Vertical Agriculture Unit, Ancestral Seed Unit and Training Unit. In this context, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality aims to produce a large number of seedlings and saplings of plant species that are difficult or impossible to grow in open field in a sterile environment in a short time and to provide producers with easy and fast access to these plants. It aims to become the center.
