Construction of the main part of the first floating wind turbine project in remote and deep-sea areas in China has been completed.

The project, which is under construction in the deep sea 136 kilometers from the coast in Wenchang city of Hainan island in the south of China, will be the world's first floating wind turbine with a water depth of more than 100 meters and a distance of 100 kilometers from the coast.

With the commissioning of the project, it is expected that the annual electricity production will reach 22 million kilowatt-hours and 22 thousand tons of carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced.

In recent years, the installed capacity of China's offshore wind energy has been constantly increasing. By 2022, it is expected that the installed power of China's offshore wind energy will reach 32 million 500 thousand kilowatts and China will continue to be the world leader in this field.

In the first half of last year, the installed capacity of global offshore wind energy increased by 6,8 gigawatts, of which China provides 5,1 gigawatts.
