Bayraktar TB3's PD170 turbodiesel engines were delivered

At SAHA EXPO 2022 held at Istanbul Expo Center, TEI General Manager Prof. Dr. Mahmut Faruk Akşit announced that PD3 turbodiesel aviation engines were delivered for Bayraktar TB170 SİHA:

“The engines we have developed are the best engines in their class in the world at altitude, there is no other UAV engine in this class that exceeds 30000 ft. AKSUNGUR has exceeded 30000 ft with our engines and these are really low-burning engines, our engine stayed in the air for 49 hours with AKSUNGUR. Finally, we delivered our engines from this PD3 series for TB170, and Baykar Defense is busy with their integration.”

Bayraktar TB2021, whose technical features were announced at TEKNOFEST 3, will have a higher payload capacity (2 kg versus 150 kg) and foldable wings to save space during transportation, in addition to its ability to take off from short runways compared to Bayraktar TB280.

Bayraktar TB2023, which is expected to meet the sky in 3, is expected to be deployed in TCG ANADOLU with 30 to 40 units. Using the deck of Bayraktar TB3 SİHA Anadolu, STOBAR type will be able to land and take off. It is also stated that with the command center to be integrated into TCG ANADOLU, at least 10 Bayraktar TB3 SİHAs can be used in operations at the same time. The TB24, which can take off from amphibious assault ships and stay in the air for more than 3 hours, can be considered as a new alternative for ships in this class, as it can provide reconnaissance, target marking and close air support in landing scenarios.
