Mayor of Akçaabat, Osman Nuri Ekim, announced the latest situation in the cable car project. Chairman Ekim said, “We are waiting for investors for the cable car project. It has a cost of 5 million Euros. It is not a project that we can afford as a municipality. We expect the market to move a little more. If anyone wants to do it with the build-operate model, we would like to tender it.” made statements.

The starting station of the cable car will be on the sea side of Cumhuriyet Park, the second station will be at the back of Ortamahalle and the last station will be in Akçatepe. The cable car project with a line length of 4613 m is being tried to be implemented in a short time.
Research is being carried out for investors who will carry out the ropeway project, whose station locations and departure points are determined, in accordance with the conditions.
The cable car, where citizens can see the coastal part of Akçaabat and Ortamahalle from the air, and witness the unique landscapes as they go up, will be an important investment in terms of tourism as well as transportation and the image of the city.
