Aegean Ready-to-Wear Exporters Aim to Export 500 Million Dollars to Germany

Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association, which returned with successful business connections by participating in the Premiere Vision New York fair for the first time, this time with 24 Turkish companies in Munich Fabric Start the Source Fair, one of the most important textile fairs of the world, on 26-12 January. will attend.

Emphasizing that Turkey is the third largest clothing supplier in Germany after China and Bangladesh, Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association President Burak Sertbaş said: We are participating in the Munich Fabric Start the Source Fair with our 24 companies as a national participation organization. The fair is held twice a year. Every year, more than a thousand companies from 26 different countries take part, as well as more than 12 thousand international participants from all over the world. We organized a national participation organization in the Sourcing section of the Munich Fabric Start fair in 41 and 20. We were planning national participation in 2017, but the fair was canceled due to the pandemic. With our national participation organization, we aim to increase the 2019% share of our country in the German market.” he said.

Sertbaş said, “At the same time, we are planning to participate in the second edition of the PV New York Fair, which we recently held national participation in, which will take place in July. Organizing a sectoral trade delegation to the USA in the autumn is also on our agenda. We will conclude the winter fairs with the PV Manufacturing Paris fair, which we will attend with 18 companies in February. Our next foreign market event will be the Italy Buying Delegation, which will take place in Izmir at the beginning of March. The second edition of MFS the Source Fair will take place in July, and we are planning to participate in this fair as well. By the end of 2023, we aim to participate in 6 fairs nationally.” said.

Aegean Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters' Association Foreign Market Strategies Development Committee Chairman Tala Uğuz stated that Germany is the largest ready-to-wear export market and said:

“As EHKİB, it is very important that we regularly participate in the MFS the Source fair. Our companies will present their spring-summer 2024 collections to international buyers for three days. Germany's total clothing imports in the 2022-month period of 10 amounted to 43,6 billion dollars. The country's total imports by the end of the year are expected to reach 50 billion dollars. Germany's total ready-to-wear imports in 2021 are 48,7 billion dollars. The Turkish ready-made clothing and apparel industry exported 2022 billion dollars to Germany, the largest market, with an increase of 5 percent in 3,6. We exported 5 million dollars to Germany, which ranks first in our Union's exports, with a 350% acceleration compared to last year. As EHKİB, we expect to increase our exports to Germany to 500 million dollars in the short term.”
