Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality is building a “Visitor Welcome Center” in Zerzevan Castle. The Metropolitan Municipality is working to welcome local and foreign visitors to the Zerzevan Castle, which is heavily visited in the region, and to meet the basic needs of the guests.
In the “Visitor Welcome Center” project, there will be a promotion and exhibition hall for visitors, a foyer area, a cafe, restaurant, souvenirs, ticket outlets, prayer rooms, washrooms and the Tourism Gendarmerie building.
The target of 1 million visitors per year with the project
The Visitor Welcome Center, which will be implemented with the allowance allocated by the GAP Regional Development Administration, is planned to be completed in 2023.
With the completion of the Visitor Welcoming Center in Zerzevan Castle, which is visited by an average of 400 thousand people a year, this number is aimed to increase to one million a year.
General Secretary Farmer made investigations
Metropolitan Municipality Secretary General Abdullah Çiftçi examined the works started in Zerzevan Castle.
The farmer received information about the works and gave instructions for the center to be completed as quickly as possible and put into the service of the citizens.
To Çiftçi, Head of Zerzevan Castle Excavation Assoc. Dr. Aytaç Çoşkun and related unit chiefs accompanied him.
