Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club wrestler Kerem Kamal defeated his Azeri opponent in 23 kg at the U60 World Wrestling Championship held in Spain and won the gold medal.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Club wrestler Kerem Kamal made history. Kamal won the gold medal by defeating his Azeri opponent in the 23 kg category at the U60 World Wrestling Championship held in Spain.

In the giant organization held in Pontevedra, Spain between 13-19 October, European Champion Kerem Kamal faced his Azeri rival Nihat Zahid Mammadli in 60 kg Greco-Roman style wrestling.

Kamal Azeri defeated his opponent with 8-0 technical superiority. Kamal defeated Iranian Omid Hossein Arami in the 1/8th round of the championship, his Israeli opponent Melkamu Fetene in the quarter-finals, and Georgian opponent Irakli Dzimistarishvili in the semi-finals.
