Work Started on Mollaköy Bridge Closed to Traffic

Metropolitan Municipality started to work on the reconstruction of the damaged deck and feet of the Mollaköy Bridge, which was closed to traffic due to the collapse, and the application of the bored pile system.

Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality took action for the Mollaköy Bridge, which was a serious problem. The Department of Science Affairs determined the damaged points with the examinations it made on the bridge.

After this work, the project for the renewal of the bridge was prepared and the tender was made. Since it is closed to traffic, work has been started for the renewal of the bridge, which has created a big problem in terms of transportation to the region.

Bored pile system

Metropolitan teams began to carry stone fill to the bridge, under which the Sakarya River flows. Within the scope of the work, the bottom of the bridge will be filled with stones first. Later, two damaged decks and one foot will be demolished.

After this process, a 'bored pile' system will be installed on the platforms to be created in the stream bed. With this process, a reinforced foundation will be produced in the field. This system, which will significantly strengthen the structure of the bridge, will provide a long-lasting service. Bridge transportation will become safer and of higher quality.

A more reliable bridge

In the statement made by the Metropolitan Municipality, “We have prepared a detailed project for a permanent solution to the Mollaköy Bridge, which has been closed to traffic and has been a danger for the Mollaköy region for a while, and we have started working. We will complete our transactions quickly to provide a safer transportation opportunity to the people of the region. Hopefully, we will eliminate the problem with our bored pile system, which we will apply for the deck, pillar construction and bridge reinforcement.
