The discounted tariff application initiated by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in public transportation vehicles in order to support the transportation expenses of working citizens continues. The number of people using the application, which is paid 06.00 TL instead of the full price, on the public transportation vehicles belonging to the EGO General Directorate between 06.45 and 4,50, has increased by 50 percent on average since September when the schools were opened.
Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to provide a safe, comfortable and economical transportation to the citizens of the Capital.
On September 12, 2022, when the schools were opened, the EGO General Directorate, which switched to the winter service program, continues with the intense interest of the citizens, the discounted transportation tariff application started to support the transportation expenses of the citizens and to reduce the traffic density at certain hours.
GREAT INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS IN THE DISCOUNTED TRANSPORTATION TARIFF
With the opening of schools in September, the number of people who use the discounted tariff application in public transportation between 27 and 2022, which started on April 06.00, 06.45; average 50 percent increase.
Before the application started on April 27, 2022, the number of passengers using the public transportation vehicles of the EGO General Directorate between 06.00 and 06.45 was 25 thousand 530, and after the opening of the schools, it increased to over 35 thousand.
The number of passengers using discounted tariffs between September 23 and October 7 and their increase rates are as follows:
On September 23, 2022, the number of passengers was 37 thousand 498, the increase rate was 46,88 percent.
On September 26, 2022, the number of passengers was 38 thousand 643, the increase rate was 51,36 percent.
On September 27, 2022, the number of passengers was 38 thousand 485, the increase rate was 50,74 percent.
On September 28, 2022, the number of passengers was 37 thousand 789, the increase rate was 48,02 percent.

THE FULL FEE IN THE MORNING HOURS IS 6.50 TL INSTEAD OF 4.50 TL
In the discounted tariff applied between 06.00 and 06.45 in urban transportation; With the cable car, bus and rail systems (Metro-ANKARAY) belonging to the EGO General Directorate, the full fee is charged as 6,50 TL instead of 4,50 TL in BAŞKENTRAY.
With the discounted transportation tariff, the Metropolitan Municipality aims to make the public transportation service more comfortable by bringing the hours of high traffic density earlier, and to encourage the citizens of Başkent, who have private vehicles, to use public transportation.
