Hasan Pezük, General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), who participated in the railway transportation technologies fair InnoTrans 2022, which started in Berlin, the capital of Germany, continues his contacts with international railway organizations. General Manager Hasan Pezük, who met with the representatives of the International Union of Railways (UIC), stated that they, as TCDD, are ready to take an active role in transferring Europe's knowledge to the Middle East countries, which are less developed in the field of railways.
Innotrans, one of the largest organizations in the rail systems industry, met with TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük, UIC President and Polish State Railways (PKP) CEO Krzysztof Maminski and UIC General Manager François Davenne in 2022. In the meeting, the delegations; discussed regional problems, expectations from UIC and solution proposals.
General Manager Pezük conveyed to the UIC representatives that the studies have started to determine the needs of the region, and that we, as TCDD, are ready to take an active role in transferring the knowledge of the European Region, especially to the members of the Middle East Region, which is less developed in terms of railways.
On the other hand, UIC General Manager Davenne thanked General Manager Hasan Pezük for his studies and evaluations regarding the needs of the region. Underlining the importance given to interregional cooperation within UIC, Davenne invited General Manager Hasan Pezük and railway stakeholders to the UIC World High Speed Congress, which will be held in Morocco in March 2023.
In addition to the meeting held; TCDD TAŞIMACILIK AŞ General Manager Ufuk Yalçın, TCDD Teknik Mühendislik ve Müşavirlik AŞ General Manager Mustafa Özdöner, UIC Passenger Department Director and RAME Coordinator Marc Guigon, PKP Brussels Office Manager Tomasz Lachowicz and Board of Directors Vice President Katarzyna Bożek attended.
