Samsun Batı Park Fishermen's Shelter Transformed into a Modern Facility

Samsun Metropolitan Municipality transformed Batı Park Fisherman's Sanctuary into a modern facility in order to develop amateur fishing. Kadir Tercanlı, President of Batı Park Anglers and Water Sports Association, said, “There has been a change that we cannot imagine. “Our shelter is now a safer and more modern place.” Metropolitan Mayor Mustafa Demir said that they work 7/24 for the peace and happiness of the citizens.

Our efforts to improve the living conditions of our amateur anglers have now come to an end. We see that our fishermen and visitors to the shelter are happy.”

The work at Batı Park Fisherman's Sanctuary, the meeting point of amateur fishermen, has come to an end. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, which has solved the problem of water and toilet in the shelter for many years, removed the porches here and expanded the area and built 171 modern huts.

WE CAN'T EVEN IMAGINE CHANGE

Stating that the works have come to an end, Batı Park Anglers and Water Sports Association President Kadir Tercanlı said, “The construction of the front door entrance and the retouching works are left. The vast majority are finished. Even as it stands, the change experienced is unimaginable. It was a family friendly place. The one who took his family now spends his weekends here. It has become a decent place worthy of Samsun,” he said. Tercanlı said, “We thank our President for his services. God bless him. There is a huge difference between the old version and the current one. Our President has signed not only here, but also in every corner of Samsun. Whether it is rural roads or city roads, the traces of the Metropolitan are everywhere. We closely follow every work done in the city," he said.

Amateur fishermen also thanked Mayor Mustafa Demir for the modern shelter, saying, “Before the Metropolitan Municipality did work here, this place was just a dumping ground for us”.

FISHING RESTAURANT IS ALSO PLANNING

Stating that the Batı Park Fishermen's Shelter has been transformed into a modern facility open to the public, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “Our efforts to improve the living conditions of our amateur anglers stationed in Batı Park have now come to an end. We see that our fishermen and visitors to the shelter are happy. We demolished all the porch type sheds that caused visual pollution. We made uniform concrete shelters for each of our fishermen. We are also planning a small fish restaurant there. Our people will be able to go and eat fresh fish whenever they want. When we finish the landscaping works, we will make a nice opening. We are working for the peace and happiness of the citizens 7/24,” he said.
