IETT will organize a total of 12 additional flights on Monday, September 1916, when the new academic year will begin. Spare vehicles will be kept ready against possible densities and reinforcements will be made on the lines where the density is experienced. Public transportation will be free between 06:14 and XNUMX:XNUMX on the first day of schools opening.

6 million 840 thousand students and 2 thousand teachers in 934 thousand 163 schools in Istanbul start the new academic year on Monday. It is expected that there will be an increase in the demand for public transportation due to the end of the summer vacation and the opening of schools, the decrease in the effect of the pandemic, the fact that universities will switch to face-to-face education, and the increase in fuel and school service costs. IETT will complete the necessary preparations and ensure that the vehicles operate at full capacity. Information was gathered about the start and end times of the courses by communicating with the educational institutions. In addition, arrangements were made in accordance with the opening dates of the universities.

Due to the 12 – 2022 Academic Year, which will start on Monday, September 2023, the number of flights will be increased. There will be a total of 776 additional flights, 820 on the Anatolian side, 320 on the European side, and 1916 on the Metrobus line. In addition, spare vehicles will be kept ready for the regions where density is expected, and additional flights will be organized when necessary. A total of 326 officers will continue to work in the field and fleet management centers on the European and Anatolian Sides so that the voyages can be carried out smoothly. In order to reduce the traffic load and to encourage citizens to use public transportation, public transportation will be provided free of charge between 06:14 and XNUMX:XNUMX on Monday.

IETT, which will switch to the "Winter Expedition Order" as of Saturday, is planned to organize 5 thousand 237 flights with 52 thousand 985 vehicles per day.

48R, D1 and D2 lines, which were put into service due to the demand in the summer, will be inactive in the winter route. KM28, 98K, 59HS, 48U, 38H, 36S, 29T and HT19 lines are being reactivated due to the winter schedule.
