On the last day of the European Mobility Week, where many activities are held, Konya Metropolitan Municipality organized a seminar and award ceremony with the participation of students on “Car-Free Day Awareness Walk”, “How I Got Younger By Cycling”. Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they tried to draw attention to sports and healthy life throughout the week and thanked all Konya residents who participated in the events.
Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they have made the life of cyclists easier with the 580-kilometer bicycle path they have built throughout Konya, as well as many more exemplary practices such as bicycle parks and bicycle trams.
Noting that the European Mobility Week was held between 16-22 September this year with the theme of “Continue by Diversifying”, Mayor Altay said, “Our city had a very active week with the activities we organized within the scope of the week celebrated in Konya with more than 2 cities in Europe. From the first day to the last day, we carried out many programs to draw attention to sports and healthy life. I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed to these organizations, and I would like to thank all my citizens from Konya for their participation.” he said.

BICYCLE TRAM WORKED FOR FREE
Within the framework of the European Mobility Week, cyclists also benefited from the bicycle tram free of charge throughout the week. In addition, the Metropolitan Municipality distributed thousands of reflective vests to the citizens who use the bicycle paths every day during the week.
Within the scope of the week, the little students got acquainted with the bicycle tram in the event "Primary School Students Ride the Bicycle Tram". The students, who took a short trip on the bicycle tram, then rode bicycles in the company of supervisors to draw attention to healthy life.
FREE BICYCLE REPAIR TENT AVAILABLE IN DIFFERENT POINTS OF THE CITY
Free bicycle repair tents set up by Konya Metropolitan Municipality during the week also provided service to bicycle users. He thanked the Metropolitan Municipality, especially the children and young people, who had their bicycles repaired in the tents serving at various points of the city between 10.00-19.00.
BICYCLE DRIVERS PEDALED HISTORY
Konya Metropolitan Municipality organized a bicycle tour from the city center to Çatalhöyük with the theme of “We Are In The Traffic” in order to raise awareness about the use of bicycles. In the riding event attended by bicycle lovers from bicycle associations and communities operating in the field of bicycles in Konya, the participants both enjoyed cycling and got to know the 10 thousand-year-old ancient city closely.
