The hearing was attended by the Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman, Istanbul Deputy Engin Altay, CHP Mersin Deputy Ali Mahir Basarir, IYI Party Deputy Chairman Bahadır Erdem, IYI Party IMM Group Deputy Chairman Ibrahim Ozkan, IYI Party Istanbul Provincial Chairman Buğra Kavuncu, multi-party members, The representative of the non-governmental organization (NGO) watched the hearing. Imamoglu did not participate in the case.

In the last hearing, İmamoğlu's lawyer submitted a petition stating that YSK members did not complain. The prosecutor's office requested time to submit a new opinion after the evaluation of the new development in question.

Lawyer Kemal Polat reminded that former YSK chairman Sadi Güven stated that he had no complaints in an interview he gave to a newspaper. Polat submitted a petition stating that four victims, including Güven, did not complain.

The prosecutor of the trial, on the other hand, requested time to prepare a new opinion on the merits after the prosecution's evaluation of the expert report he submitted to the court, which he stated that he had given his opinion in the last session, but that the defendant's lawyer stated that it might be in favor of his client.

İmamoğlu's lawyers had requested a refusal in the court. The court stated that there was no situation that would cast doubt on the impartiality of the judge, that this method was used because their demands were rejected, and that it was intended to prolong the trial, and decided to reject the defendant's lawyer's request for refusal.

The case, which was heard today at the Anatolian 7th Criminal Court of First Instance, was adjourned until 11 November.

WHAT HAPPENED?

An indictment was prepared with the allegation that İBB President İmamoğlu insulted the President and members of the YSK in his press statement after the cancellation of the March 13, 31 elections, which he won with a margin of 2019 thousand votes. In the indictment prepared by the Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that 11 people, including retired YSK Chairman Sadi Güven, who worked at the Supreme Election Board at that time, were victims.

In the indictment, Imamoglu's imprisonment of 1 year, 3 months, 15 days, 4 years and 1 month, and the deprivation of his right to elect and be elected, were demanded for the crime of "openly insulting public officials working as a Board due to their duties".
