Operations Against Fuel Smugglers in 3 Provinces

Special mechanisms that provide unregistered fuel sales in Konya, Aksaray and Amasya were determined by the Special Team for Combating Fuel Smuggling and Fighting Smuggling and Organized Crime.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, as a result of the simultaneous successful operations of the Special Team for Combating Fuel Smuggling, which operates under the General Directorate of Customs Enforcement of the Ministry of Commerce, and the Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Teams affiliated to the Gendarmerie General Command, against 4 different fuel stations, unregistered operations were carried out in Konya, Aksaray and Amasya. Special mechanisms that provide fuel sales were determined.

The first of the operations was carried out in the Karatay district of Konya. The teams, who were informed that unregistered fuel sales were made over the counter with a numerator using a fuel tanker at a fuel station, that fake fuel receipts were issued upon request for these sales, and that no receipt was issued for taxpayers who wanted to show their expenses high, the teams started to work for immediate intervention.

During the searches, the handheld terminal used in changing the version of the cash register, computers used in issuing fake receipts, cash registers and many fake fuel receipts were caught. In addition, many weapons such as unlicensed pistols, shotguns and shotguns were seized at the station, which tried to generate illegal income with a fake mechanism, and possible security problems were eliminated.

Two separate operations were performed in Aksaray. In the first operation, the teams encountered a different scene while searching for a mechanism for illegal fuel sales. During the searches, it was noticed that 6160 packs of illegal cigarettes were hidden on the roof of the gas station. In the second operation, it was revealed that unregistered fuel sales were made at another fuel station by interfering with automation and cash registers. The computer and cash register used for unregistered sales were seized, with the pump computer and interface unit running parallel to the sales system hidden in the station.

Finally, with the operation carried out at a station in the Merzifon district of Amasya, devices controlled by mobile phones and equipped with wireless internet receivers were uncovered. The teams, who determined that wrong data was sent to the automation system about the fuel level in the station tanks, also determined that the system was intervened with a mobile phone and thus the sales data were deleted.

As a result of the continuous and intense work of the teams, the belongings, mechanisms and documents seized in 3 different operations carried out in 4 provinces were confiscated. Judicial and administrative proceedings have been initiated against those concerned.
