Izmir Metropolitan Municipality doubled its support in the 2022-2023 academic year, due to the worsening of living conditions. During the academic year, 10 thousand university students will be provided with a total of 400 thousand liras of teaching aid for 10 months, 4 liras per month. A total of 10 million liras of educational support will be provided to 40 thousand students who need to be supported throughout the academic year. Last year, a total of 5 million 547 thousand 17 liras were provided to 750 thousand 400 university students by the Social Services Department.

Associate degree or undergraduate students with limited financial means and families residing in Izmir can apply for teaching support. Applications will only be accepted through the bizzzmir.com website in September. The number of applications will be limited to 30 thousand, and the first part of the education support, which corresponds to four months' payment, will be given in December for the 10 thousand students determined as a result of the evaluation, and the second part will be given in 600.
