Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu announced that approximately 1.5 million vehicles crossed the Begendik Botan Bridge, Turkey's highest bridge. Karaismailoğlu said, “We save a total of 23.9 million TL per year with our bridge, which is the work of our country's engineers and workers, from design to construction.”

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement about the Begendik Botan Bridge. Karaismailoğlu stated that investments continue in all corners of Turkey and that transportation and infrastructure projects have been implemented, regardless of east or west. Karaismailoğlu said, “We deliver our citizens to their loved ones safely, quickly and comfortably with viaducts and bridges” and stated that one of these investments is the Begendik Botan Bridge. Reminding that the bridge was put into service on July 11, 2020, Karaismailoğlu noted that the bridge built between the Pervari district of Siirt and the Hizan district of Bitlis connects the provinces of Bitlis and Van.

Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the Begendik Botan Bridge is Turkey's longest mid-span box-section post-tensioned bridge in balanced cantilever system with a middle span of 210 meters and said, “The length of the bridge reaches a total of 2 meters with 450 side spans. Also, Begendik Botan Bridge has the title of Turkey's highest bridge with 165 meters. With this investment, which is very important for the region, the Begendik-Pervari section has been shortened by 8 kilometers. With the bridge, a total annual saving of 15.6 million TL is achieved, 8,3 million TL from time and 23.9 million TL from fuel. Carbon emissions are also reduced by 1673 tons.

ENGINEERS AND WORKERS RAISED BY OUR COUNTRY HAVE LABOR

Pointing out that 100 percent domestic materials are used in the bridge, which was built entirely with the labor of engineers and workers trained by this country, from its design to the project and construction, Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu stated that 1 million 489 thousand vehicles have passed through the Begendik Bridge since the day it was opened.

Noting that they crossed the impenetrable mountains with tunnels and the valleys with bridges, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

“All of these achievements took their place in history as magnificent works that touched the lives of our people. We are not just saying this, it is the whole of Turkey. Let the opposition continue to watch us. All they know is to criticize. Our people see and know about the investments we make. We have been working for our nation for 20 years and will continue to work in the coming years. We have provided services and invested in every corner of our country in this sacred mission that we say 'don't stop, just keep going'. We have planned our country's investments until 2035 and 2053 and determined their targets.”
