The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has made a regulation that allows restaurant and cafeteria residues to be used as feed within the scope of efforts to reduce waste.

The Regulation Amending the Regulation on the Market Place and Use of Feeds prepared by the Ministry, and the Regulation Amending the Regulation on Animal By-Products Not Used for Human Consumption were published in the Official Gazette.

Accordingly, foods produced by food production enterprises as human food but given up for consumption for commercial or other reasons, products past the "expiry date" and "recommended consumption date", food production facilities, mass food consumption places (such as restaurants, factories) In order not to waste food wastes produced for food purposes but not used as human food for various reasons in hotels, ready-to-eat food production enterprises, the way was opened for their use in the feeding of animals that do not produce food.

The regulations will come into effect after 6 months.
