In addition to the success in preventing these losses, the correct and sustainable use of plant protection products is also extremely important. As a matter of fact, the recommended and non-recommended use of plant protection products brings with it negative effects such as residues in food, resistance in harmful organisms and undesirable side effects in non-target organisms in the environment. made its assessment.
Stating that the first thing that farmers should pay attention to when using lice protection products, Baştuğ said that only licensed plant protection products should be used against the licensed crop plants and agents and said, “These products must be used at the right time. This issue is important not only in our country, but throughout the world. The latest example in this regard is the operation named Silver Ax VII, coordinated by Europol. With the said operation, 2022 arrests were made with the participation of law enforcement officers of 31 countries between January and April 10, and 1.150 tons of illegal-counterfeit pesticides were seized.
The fight against counterfeit and illegal pesticides is of great importance both for our health and for the protection of our farmers' labor. In order not to incur any damage, our farmers should only shop from reliable dealers authorized by the ministry and report the products they suspect to our companies and the provincial-district agricultural organizations of our ministry.
