The 'Emergency Response Software' project, which has been working for 18 months in order to prevent possible accidents and fires and to minimize the environmental, social and economic effects of emergencies, was commissioned by GEBKİM, Turkey's first chemistry specialized OIZ. Thanks to the software, which was awarded the first prize in the Occupational Health and Safety category at the Common Futures Awards organized by TİSK, the unmanned aerial vehicles that will patrol the region autonomously will process the data they observe and transmit it to the command center. UAVs will automatically forward any negative situation they detect to the relevant units.

Studies on occupational health and safety are increasing in the Marmara Region, which is Turkey's industrial locomotive. Known for being Turkey's first Specialized Organized Industrial Zone in the field of chemistry, GEBKİM OSB has also launched the “An Innovative Step for Urgent Action in the Chemical Industry: Emergency Response Software” that it has been developing for 18 months by taking advantage of the advantages offered by technological developments. With the meeting held at the GEBKİM OIZ Conference Hall, all the works carried out during the project were introduced to the project beneficiaries, the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency (AFAD) and other organized industrial zone representatives.

“WE SUCCESSFUL TO IMPLEMENT THE DIGITALIZATION PROCESS IN ALL AREAS OF OUR OIZ”

Making evaluations about the implementation of the Emergency Response Software and stating that it is one of the leading and exemplary OIZs of Turkey with the ecosystem created by GEBKİM, GEBKİM Chairman of the Board Vefa İbrahim Araç said, "We always aim to act with the principle of city, human and environment in our work. we continue. For this purpose, we strive to activate studies that will contribute to our country's economy within our ecosystem that protects human labor, in an environmentally compatible manner. With our Emergency Response Software project, which we aim to prevent possible accidents, we have succeeded in implementing the digitalization process in all areas of our OIZ from our factories. Considering the advantages that the power of technology gives us, we are proud of realizing a project realized for the first time in Turkey.” used his statements.

UAVS WILL MOVE AUTONOMOUSLY WITH ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Within the scope of the project supported by the European Union and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the unmanned aerial vehicles that will act autonomously with artificial intelligence on the GEBKİM OSB will prevent possible accidents and ensure that fires can be intervened before they grow.

IN AN EMERGENCY, IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY NOTICE RELATED ORGANIZATIONS

Data from UAVs, which will monitor GEBKİM OIZ, especially in risky areas, 7/24, will be collected at the Command Center. In the event of a possible danger, the system will automatically notify public institutions such as the fire brigade, AFAD, Health Units, and the National Poison Center, and will warn the factory authorities via the mobile application.

2 THOUSAND PEOPLE TRAINED

In order for the system to work efficiently in the 18-month period from its installation to the activation process, all GEBKİM and participating company emergency teams were given basic first aid, emergency training, fire risk assessment, chemical spill and leakage, and fire response training on issues of great importance in the chemical industry. . The individual and institutional capacities of employers and employees were increased as a result of the training given to approximately 12 people with the program consisting of 3 training titles and 2 seminars. Prior to the commissioning of the software, pilot trials and exercises of the system were carried out 3 times within the body of GEBKİM OSB.

STUDENTS ARE ALSO INCLUDED IN THE PROJECT

Within the scope of the project, more than 400 students were given Disaster Awareness and Emergency Training at the GEBKİM Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School in Dilovası, owned by the GEBKİM Education, Research and Health Foundation, which will create the qualified workforce of the future in the chemical industry.

THE DATA OBTAINED IN 18 MONTHS WAS INTEGRATED TO THE SYSTEM

A field visit was made to 40 enterprises operating in GEBKİM OIZ, together with the technical experts of the project team, in order to determine the emergency structures and preparations, to analyze the situation analysis, risk assessment and emergency plans. Within the scope of establishing cooperation with neighboring OIZs, the fire departments of 8 organized industrial zones were visited by the project team. The data obtained from these studies were integrated into the system in order to ensure effective coordination in the entire OIZ in case of emergency.

TİSK WAS GIVEN FIRST PRIZE IN OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY CATEGORY

The Emergency Response Software project was deemed worthy of the first prize in the 'Occupational Health and Safety' category at the Common Futures Awards organized by the Confederation of Turkish Employers' Unions.
