At the August meeting of IMM UKOME, it was decided to increase school and personnel service fees by 4 percent, which corresponds to the minimum wage and inflation average of the last 19,2 months. At the meeting where the Sea Taxi fares were re-determined, the arrangement of the "Special Rail System Expedition Line" between Galataport - Beyazıt / Sultanahmet was also approved.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) August meeting was held at Yenikapı Kadir Topbaş Performance and Art Center. At the meeting held under the chairmanship of IMM Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar, the issue of updating school and bus fees was discussed.
Tradesmen representatives, stating that the costs have increased by 130 percent, asked for an additional raise of at least 30 percent. IMM Public Transportation Services Directorate stated that since April 6, 2022, the last date of regulation of service fees, fuel prices have increased by 12.13 percent, the minimum wage has increased by 29.32 percent, and inflation has increased by 15.18 percent. 19.21 percent, which is the average (cumulative) increase, was offered by IMM as an additional wage increase offer.
In the proposal, “Financial burdens created by the cost elements of the economic transportation service offered; fuel, exchange rate, imported spare parts, etc. It is aimed to maintain the transportation service effectively and regularly due to the increasing costs in areas, to ensure that the journeys are economical, as well as to protect the income-expenditure balance of the tradesmen and operators.
After the evaluations, IMM's 19,21 percent wage increase proposal for school and bus fees was put to the vote and accepted by a majority of votes.
With the decision taken; 0-1 km increased from 554 lira to 660 lira, 1-3 km from 608 lira to 725 lira, 3-5 km from 658 lira to 758 lira, 7-9 km from 721 lira to 862 lira in school buses.
SEA TAXI FEES HAVE BEEN REDETERMINED
At the meeting, a fee increase was also made for IMM Sea Taxi services, which started to serve in December 2021. With the decision adopted by majority vote; The opening fee, which is 100 TL, is 210 TL, the transportation fee for 75-1 miles, which is 4 TL, is 160 TL, and the transportation fee for 60-5 miles, which is 8 TL, is 125 TL.
IMM Secretary General Can Akın Çağlar stated that Sea Taxi started to serve with an introductory price; He said that the increase in fuel, inflation and wages in the last 8 months made wage regulation mandatory.
GALATAPORT - BEYAZIT SPECIAL TRAM voyage
At UKOME, the proposal to organize the “Galataport – Beyazıt/Sultanahmet Private Rail System Expedition Line” brought by IMM was accepted unanimously. In the offer; It was stated that it is important for the transfer of cruise ship passengers arriving at Galataport to the Beyazıt/Sultanahmet region using the existing rail system infrastructure without traffic and parking problems.
With the decision taken; Kabataş – On the Bağcılar Tram Line, new flights will be organized for tourists, stretching from Galataport to Sultanahmet and Beyazıt. The cost of the flights, which will not be charged to tourists, will be covered by the contract to be signed between Metro Istanbul, a subsidiary of IMM, and TÜRSAB.
